The Milk Lady is In!!The-Milk-Lady-is-In/c1k7g/576379c60cf23063aa8fea06

After much preparation, I'm thrilled to share with you that I have begun seeing clients at my new lactation practice! This unique practice provides breastfeeding support to mothers living in South Florida in the comfort of their own home! I help new, experienced and adoptive mothers initiate breastfeeding and overcome obstacles. I can help you with low milk supply, sore nipples, breast pain, latch problems, weaning, going back to work and more. I strongly believe in giving mothers up-to-date information and caring support so that they can make informed decisions for their infants and themselves. In addition to home visits and group classes, I have implemented provider support services to allow breastfeeding friendly pediatric and OBGYN practices to provide their patients with in office lactation consults.

Let's start off with a little introduction to who I am and why I am blogging. My name is Sara Raskind and I'm a Registered Nurse (RN) and a Board Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). I began my career working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, FL. As a NICU nurse working in a level III facility, I have had the opportunity to undergo intense medical training including providing much-needed lactation education and support to the families of our patients. It was at the NICU where I discovered my passion for helping mothers properly nourish their children. This experience ultimately led me to sit for the exam to become a Certified Lactation Counselor. In addition to opening my private practice here, I continue to work at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in the NICU and in conjunction with Labor & Delivery/Mother-Baby to ensure that I stay up-to-date with hospital based nursing practices.

I am thrilled to begin providing lactation services to the families of South Florida! I can't wait to work with the other like-minded professionals in the community to build an even stronger breastfeeding supportive community for families and to fulfill the company motto, CONFIDENT MOMS. HEALTHY BABIES. If you would like to learn more about my services or what an lactation counselor is, you can follow the links to my website. If you need assistance breastfeeding contact me and I'll be more than happy to help.

Through my blog, I'll provide you with breastfeeding tips as well as chat about breastfeeding news, upcoming events and really any breastfeeding thoughts that come to my mind. Your feedback and comments are appreciated and encouraged. If there is something you would like to see in my future posts please let me know! I'm excited to see what the future brings and I look forward to talking to you soon.

All the Breast,

Sara Raskind (A.K.A The Milk Lady)
